Calculation of optimal heart rate

The Karvonen method helps to calculate the heart rate range, which provides for maximum burning of fat. Experience and research have shown that the fat-burning process starts when you are 20-30 minutes into cardio exercise; therefore, the recommended duration of aerobic workout is 40-60 minutes. Experienced athletes can withstand a 70-90 minute workload to achieve the result faster.
